Overhead Travelling Crane for Glass Handing Solutions

    in General Discussions

    Crane Request

Our customer required the installation of a travelling for handling and transferring of large panes of glass around their workshop.

The customer from needed to supply lifting coverage over a large working area so the crane load hook needed to be able to be positioned anywhere within 3 axis, allowing for hoisting up and down, travel left to right and long travel forward and backwards.

    The Solution

We supplied the customer with a single girder overhead travelling crane total 25 metres in length and with a span of 9.5 metres and a safe working load of 5t as required.

This system was fitted with a electric which benefits from a travelling motor gear box, ensuring smooth travelling speeds, whilst also offering dual speed lifting and variable speed for cross and long travel motions, all of which is controlled with a radio remote control system.

As the main uses for this overhead crane are to assist in transferring material around the workshop and loading/unloading trucks, the radio remote control system we supplied with the electric wire rope hoist makes for a safer transition when doing so.
